The global energy mix is changing; climate change concerns, geopolitical risks around energy security, and technological advancement are major drivers pushing diversification from fossil fuels to renewable energy alternatives.
For close to a century, world energy consumption was dominated by three fossil fuel types: Coal, Oil and Gas; however, non-fossil energy sources now form an increasing share of the global energy mix. Renewable energy share of the global energy mix is projected to triple over the next two decades to about a fifth of total demand.
However, energy access remains a challenge, one billion people—about one-seventh of the world’s population—have no access to electricity. According to the World Bank, about 60% of these (591 million people) are in Sub-Saharan Africa. Renewable energy solutions like off-grid solar home systems (SHS) and biofuels provide unique opportunities to eradicate energy poverty in Africa.
Since inception, Ace Noesis has been actively involved in the drive to deploy renewable energy solutions to eradicate energy poverty in Africa. We provide management and technical advisory services in the design, development, and deployment of hybrid renewable energy systems, particularly, PV solar solutions and biofuels.
